If you haven't read the first part of the 7 Proven Effective Ways to Drive Traffic to Your Blog, I suggest that you first read it. Here's another list of 7 proven effective ways to drive traffic to your blog.1. Create an RSS for your blog.RSS also known as Really Simple Syndication allows your readers to read your post from their chosen Feed Reader or News Aggregator. If there's one thing I've learned about blogging, that is to give as much convenience to your visitors. Creating an RSS feed of your blog is just one way to do it. You can visit RSS Tutorial for a comprehensive coverage of this issue. If you create an RSS for your blog, I highly recommend that you use FeedBurner. Creating an RSS with Feedburner is really simple plus it's free to use their services. I've been using feedburner since I've started blogging and I've found their services really useful. Now that Feedburner has been acquired by Google, their services has just gotten better. Go ahead and create your RSS now then come back to read more from this blog.2. Submit your RSS to MyYahoo and Google Reader. If you frequently update your blog and you want it to be indexed by Yahoo and Google, I recommend that you to submit it to MyYahoo and Google Reader. Doing this is easy if you have an email account with Yahoo and Google. If you don't have one yet, It would be a good idea to create one now. Once you've submitted your RSS feed to MyYahoo and Google Reader, you'll get higher chances of being indexed plus your blog will be frequently crawled for updates.3. Submit your posts to Delicious, Reddit, Netscape, Digg and other related services.Submitting your posts to Delicious, Reddit, Netscape and Digg require membership. It would take you 30 minutes to join all these services and you can immediately start submitting your posts. The logic behind this scheme is simple. You are getting your blog reach more people, hence, increasing your traffic. If you make a really good post that people would want to read and share to their friends, you might get on top of Digg, Delicious, Netscape or Reddit. Once this happen, you'll experience a hype in your traffic.4. Use Social Networks to promote your blog.In my previous article, I have written about using social networks to drive traffic to your blog. In that post, I've discussed how you can take advantage of Friendster, Myspace, Tagged, Hi5 and similar services to promote your blog. It might be a good idea to check it out.Using social networks allows you to promote your blog to your friends. I know several A-list bloggers who participates in these social networks to promote their blog. Darren Rowse of Problogger for instance has his account with Facebook, one of the most popular social networks these days.5. Publicize your Blog on-line and 'OFF-LINE'.Most of the time bloggers ignore the possibilities of promoting their blogs Off-Line. When I've started blogging, I was one of the many bloggers who solely rely on on-line publicity. Actually, you can publicize your blog even when you are not using the internet. Here are some of my suggestions.
Include your blog address on your business card.
Design stickers with popular quotes on it including information about your blog and distribute it to your friends and family.
Join seminars, meetings or gatherings and introduce your blog to the participants. Make sure that you join meetings and seminars that has something to do with your blog. Or at least related to your blog.I'm sure you can come up with more ideas. Just be creative.6. Ask help from other bloggers.Asking help from other bloggers is not something bad. You shouldn't be embarassed to seek help from people who are more experienced in blogging. Most bloggers will be flattered if you request for their help and advices. While you are doing this, you gain more ideas you can implement on your blog and you're making friends with other bloggers.7. The last but certainly NOT THE LEAST.Be PATIENT. Building traffic to your blog is not an easy job. You need to do a lot of sacrifices. Sometimes, we, bloggers feel depresessed or disappointed of how little we have achieved but this should not stop us from blogging. Here's an article I encourage you to read. It's all about Bloggers, not giving up Blogging. Remember that Success is not only measured by how much TRAFFIC your blog has generated. Personally, I give more significance on how much helpful my blog is to my readers. I'm more fulfilled to think that I have 5 loyal and satisfied readers than having 1,000,000 readers who did not find my blog useful at all. There you have it. Remember that these tips are useless not until you put them in action. If you have any other suggestions you believe will be useful in driving traffic to your blog, kindly leave it as a comment.
